While sleeping, i was slowly awoken by a soft thumping sound in intervals of three outside my home and my large dog barking incessantly. i eventually registered the thumping sound and my dog barking and immediately assumed someone was breaking into my car outside. as soon as i became alert and began to move out of bed, my head and hearing was overtaken by an intense buzzing/humming for maybe two seconds and seemed to originate internally; the thumping sound outside ended and my dog stopped barking. i thought that was odd but still assumed there was an intruder so i grabbed my gun and ran to the living room window to see if there was indeed a burglar. i saw no one and no vehicle except my own. a second later, the right side of my view (easterly down the road) flashed a bright blue. there was no sound, no lightning or thunder, the electrical transformers were fine, no cars, and no people outside (suburbs at 0430). i stayed up the rest of the morning and observed no lightning. the source of the bright blue flash must’ve been close to the ground as it only illuminated half of my street and not the whole sky (hence again, not lightning). i couldn’t think of any explanation for this string of strange events so i figured i’d post it here in case others in my area have had similar experiences.
