I went to the wichita mountains last weekend on saturday (4-24-21) for hiking and photos. i went up to the summit of mt scott and walked down to an overlook area on the west side. there is a tree that i was wanting to photograph, so i took a series of test shots for proper angle and composition. i found a composition that i liked and decided to return at dusk to shoot a good photo of the tree. i never did make it back up that day, and didn’t even review the images until today (4-28-21). when i went through my raw files, i noticed an object in the sky. it appears to be at a down-angle of about 40 degrees, with motion blur at edges. there is a clear circular structure to the object. while i shot this, it was completely silent except for a little wind and other visitors on the summit. nobody was throwing anything off the mountain, and especially at the distance at which i’ve estimated to be 500+ feet away. i shot the test photo at 640th of a second; too fast for a drone to get motion blur. i am leaving a raw image file; all exif data is embedded with it. i had one friend with me and she didn’t see or hear it either.
