A retired Air Force Colonel who experienced one of history’s most famous UFO sightings says he has new evidence that will shed light on the events, which took place in Rendlesham forest.
The incident in question transpired in late 1980, when soldiers at the RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge bases observed strange UFOs in the sky over Rendlesham forest, which is located between them, as the Huffington Post reports. The observations continued into a second night (December 28, 1980), prompting Brentwaters deputy base commander Col. Charles Halt to lead a group into the forest to investigate. While in Rendlesham, the soldiers observed a strangely illuminated UFO, which appeared to drip a molten substance toward the ground.

Now, Halt has collected sworn statements from air traffic controllers who sighted the strange UFO over Rendlesham on their scopes, but feared for their jobs and never spoke out about the incident, as the BBC reports.
“I have confirmation that (Bentwaters radar operators)… saw the object go across their 60 mile (96km) scope in two or three seconds, thousands of miles an hour. It came back across their scope again, stopped near the water tower, they watched it and observed it go into the forest where we were,” Halt said. “At Wattisham, they picked up what they called a ‘bogie’ and lost it near Rendlesham Forest. Whatever was there was clearly under intelligent control.”

Halt asserts that the witnesses in question told him that they knew whenever an air traffic professional reported a UFO, they were quickly de-certified, “So they said nothing.” He expressed his frustration with what he considers to be decades of inaccurate information regarding the Rendlesham incident, which he believes is perpetuated by an agency devoted to hiding the reality behind UFO reports.
“There is a contract civilian agency, that is fed information, that is controlling everything. It’s made up of either former military, high-level government agencies or high-ranking, very knowledgeable scientists. I can almost guarantee you. That’s the way we do it. And disinformation is the biggest thing.”

When asked whether or not a policy designed to hide the existence of UFOs from the general public could ever be a good idea, Halt asserted that society could handle such information. UFOs are still seen at Rendlesham forest on occasion, as the Inquisitr recently reported.
