New Signals Suggest Possible Alien Tech Nearby

Simon Holland, a filmmaker with NASA ties, reports that two scientific groups are racing to publish findings about a potential technological civilization near Proxima Centauri, a star just 4.25 light years away. Proxima Centauri is part of the Alpha Centauri system and hosts Proxima Centauri b, a rocky planet in the habitable zone capable of sustaining liquid water.

Radio signals, named BLC-1, first detected in 2019, were initially thought to be interference or natural sources. However, recent analysis indicates these signals exist in a narrowband electromagnetic frequency at 982 MHz, suggesting a possible technological origin. This frequency is not typical for known natural sources.

Oxford University scientists, in collaboration with Australia’s Parkes Radio Telescope and the Breakthrough Listen Project, are investigating these signals. Dr. Andrew Siemion of the Breakthrough Listen Project described the signal as "undoubtedly one of the most intriguing signals we’ve seen to date."

Additionally, Chinese scientists at the Five Hundred Meter Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST) are preparing a paper suggesting that BLC-1 may indicate an intelligent non-human signature.

The question remains whether these findings will lead to a significant disclosure or if they will be dismissed as inconclusive.
