On Friday morning, a picture of an unidentified flying object spotted in Uttar Pradesh (UP) was trending on social media.

No, no. It couldn’t be another rumour, after all, the real life documentary, Independence Day just hit the theatres a few days ago. According to International Business Times, residents of UP’s Manpur Nagaria village in Kasganj district claimed to have spotted the UFO. Since the image was also being widely shared on Whatsapp — this generation’s most reliable news and information source, government authorities assured that the claims would be investigated.
District Magistrate K Vijendra Pandyan, according to IBT, was “taken aback” by the pictures.
