Serbia Joins Artemis

Serbia signed the Artemis Accords, becoming the 69th nation to join the international agreement for peaceful space exploration. The ceremony was hosted by NASA at its headquarters in Washington.

NASA Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson highlighted Serbia's historical connection to NASA, citing the contributions of Serbian engineers during the Apollo program. Serbia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić emphasized the importance of international cooperation in space exploration.

By signing the Artemis Accords, Serbia opens the door to opportunities for future lunar exploration with NASA, including providing science and technology payloads for the U.S.-led Moon Base and CubeSats for upcoming Artemis missions.

The Artemis Accords aim to enhance safety and coordination between nations as they explore the Moon, Mars, and beyond, committing nations to explore peaceably and transparently, render aid to those in need, and preserve historically significant sites and artifacts.
